This proposal focuses on implementing different image processing routines integrated into a system that will execute it on single and distributed processors. It will deal with routines such as threshold, brightness, contrast, invert, gamma, smoothing, edge detection and enhancement, erosion and dilation, opening and closing. The execution time of every routine done through sequential and parallel will be presented to monitor the statistics that will help evaluate the performance between single and distributed computing
